Week Six.

As this course is coming to an end, I am really starting to pay attention to all the little things in everyone else’s writing.  I know I am not the greatest writer, and that only mean I have so much more potential to grow.  I like to look at things from a different perspective than most people.  I like to focus on the small goals before looking at the bigger picture.  I have a habit of really breaking things down in my life to make sure I am being achieve my highest potential.  If I focus on getting what I can done in this moment, then in the end I will see how all the moments add into one big picture.  For example, take graduation, I do not think about how much I STILL have to get done before I graduate, but I break it down and just worry about my current classes; even within those classes, I am breaking down each of the assignments.  When I break things down I like to try to put them into a time frame on my agenda, whether its homework that I plan on doing at a certain time on a certain day, or whether it is registering for my ACT; I make sure I choose a certain time-frame to get things done, and not just set a “deadline”. This breaking thing down is the method I learn to use with my writing as well, making sure I break everything down before I allow myself to become overwhelmed with the thought of having to do a 6-8-page research paper.  I have found it less stressful to worry about it in smaller sections like; getting the cover page and reference page done one day, then the outline another day, and the introduction and summary the following day.  Giving myself smaller goals to accomplish within the week worse better than leaving it all for the last day.

  1. Looking at the small steps to complete a big goal is a great idea! I feel also that by reading what other people have written is a great way to see how something may or may not be said.

  2. I totally agree with Josh! Not only that, I really like how you break down into smaller groups the assignments that you have to do for each of your courses, especially with the research paper and presentation coming up for this course soon. That makes a lot easier and less stressful and overwhelming.

Good luck with your research paper and presentation!

  3. I also like how you break it down into smaller groups! I need to try doing that too! But as the weeks go by I can't believe how fast it's going! Monday cannot come fast enough to see everyone's topics and presentations!
